Mayor Sophie Ramsey
Cr Sophie Ramsey has previously been a Judge for Melton Idol over Several years up until the competition ended in 2014.

About Mayor Sophie:
Melton has been my family home for the past 29 years with my three beautiful girls, mother and grandmother in the one house.

Family is very important to me, and providing a loving home with family values is at the core of our household.

I am a community volunteer and love the challenges that each group has brought. Some of the groups I have been apart are listed below:

· President of the Brookfield Preschool
· Friends of Rusden
· Residents Action Melton South
· Deputy Chair of the Melton Adventure Playground, NAVAN PARK
· Coburn Primary School Parent Helper
· Melton Red Cross
· Melton Street Surfer
· Supporter of many sporting, environmental, and volunteer organisations.

I was first elected to council in 2001 following the Commissioners. I can tell you it was a steep learning curve, with much resentment aimed at council. I learned to work with many community groups and the Businesses in Melton, and am proud of what we have all achieved.

I have enjoyed representing on the following committees
· Western Melbourne Tourism Board
· PDAC Committee
· Strategic Health Forum
· Interface Council
· Melton Waves Reference Group
· Leadwest
· Melton Health community advisory committee
· Road safe Westgate
· Roads to Zero
· L2P Program
Andrew Micallef
Andrew Micallef
Since starting his training in 1989 at Attitudes Dance Studio,
in the styles of Jazz, Tap and Neo Classical, Andrew has a number
of achievements to his name. After studying Certificate III in
preforming arts at Bartuccios Dance and Promotions Centre at the age of 16,
it wasn't long until Andrew was dancing professionally.

Some of his highlights include "The Wog boy" (Feature Film),
"Godspell" (Musical) "TV Week Logie Awards Dancer for Ricky Martin"
(Back Up Dancer) and "Moulin Rouge" (Feature Film) and many others.
Andrew was offered full scholarship to Dance Fac-tory full time dance school
in 1999 but chose to stay with Bartuc-cios. Andrew was then given a government
grant from the St Kilda Arts Department for setting up a dance program for under privileged children.

This was the first time Andrew had a taste for teaching children. After completing
a few more contracts, Andrew de-cided that his passion for teaching had lead him
to teaching full time at various schools in Melbourne and then decided to open
his own school in Melton. Andrew is frequently invited to choreograph various
events throughout Melbourne.

With experience from every aspect of dance,
Andrew enjoys collaborating with his hand picked staff and creating the future
of dance.
